I’m defiant again.
We are living in a simulation where machines predict the next word in a sentence with scary accuracy. A world with marketing teams building artificial people to promote scam products to people who still have money.
Society is driven by fear. Yeah, it always has been. But this time the fear is of a completely different kind. In my circles, smart, capable people waste away their health and mental wellness in a chase of some final „big bucks”.
Everyone optimizes business and messaging for maximum clicks, conversion, retention. Minimize churn, auto-parse metrics. Vibe-code solutions. An endless loop of trying to trick people.
Maybe marketing has always been like that, only the tool became more capable.
I’ve always been a bit defiant
When everyone goes left, I go right. When the world talks about eating bugs for the climate or going vegan, I quit my vegetarian/vegan diet and go for red meat. And it helped me build quite a lot of muscle in the process.
My approach to the DD brand was always about what’s in the name.
Defiance towards norms of living. Norms of ageing. Norms of fitness, success, health. Even norms of wellbeing that have shifted into odd categories in the last two decades.
So once again, I’m gonna defy what everyone does.
I will NOT make an AI influencer to promote my products.
I will NOT use AI to write scripts for my videos.
I will NOT focus on clickbaits for the sake of views alone (but sometimes an idea is naturally sticky and that’s fine).
I will NOT try to game the algos.
My hope is that people will start noticing in the slop shower of AI influencers that reality is what they’re really missing.
So right now defiance is simply staying „normal”. Not adjusting to the new reality. And still building my app completely free and private. Yes, I’m not collecting emails, not showing ads, not making people pay.
It’s health as a community driven project.
And from now on every monday I will be writing a newsletter for DD about my wellness, health and lifestyle journey. With tips, recommendations and tactics I used.
